Astor and Mighty

Astor and Mighty 8" Collector Sculpture created for Oddfauna.

Emma SanCartier designed the characters, traditionally sculpted and painted a smaller version of the statue. My job was to digitally resculpt the characters and give Astor a big 'ol smiley face. The challenge was to recreate the hand sculpted clay look and feel in ZBrush. It was a real technical challenge emulating the tools, simulating clay volume displacements, and philosophizing wabi sabi. The "greys" show this a bit better than the paint.
